When a person is born again, the new spiritual nature produced within that person immediately requires spiritual nourishment and foundational teaching to promote growth. God’s word provides the necessary nourishment our souls need and desire. But spiritual growth is not automatic—it requires intentionality to grow and develop.
Spiritual maturity is not a destination but a gradual, progressive process of development. Like a new building, a new believer in Christ needs a strong foundation to undergird and provide a base for their new spiritual life. Each believer must be grounded and established in foundational truths so that they can mature and grow strong in Christ.
Throughout this booklet, John Bevere discussed the elementary truths such as repentance from dead works, faith toward God, baptisms, the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgement (Hebrews 6:1-2).
